Orchard fruits and sweet citrus orange are balanced with delicate floral notes and a hint of minerality. The Classic Laddie is the epitome of Bruichladdich's distilling philosophy. Produced using 100% Scottish malting barley and matured entirely on Islay in a variety of quality oak casks, before being bottled on site, our eponymous single malt Scotch whisky is an example of incredible provenance, traceability and flavour.

We're proud to work directly with farmers to source our malting barley, with each bottle of The Classic Laddie fully traceable from farm to glass.

We champion Scottish grown barley, with 50% of our malting barley for total production grown on Islay. Not only does this add to the flavour and provenance of The Classic Laddie but supports our growers and keeps value in the farming community.

We bottle our Classic Laddie at 50% alcohol by volume as opposed to the average of 40-46%. The flavour of our spirit at 50% ABV is barley forward, meaning you taste more of the Scottish malt we have worked hard to trace. We will not stretch our spirit and compromise on quality for the sake of profit.

Bruichladdich

Bruichladdich's flagship single malt range explores the infinite possibilities of what whisky can and should be. In a mission to uncover flavour at every opportunity, these Islay single malts have become a liquid embodiment of the distillery's unrelenting curiosity. The depth of the range is complex, yet rewarding, as variety and nuance is celebrated in every fruitful drop.

Unlike Bruichladdich's neighbouring distilleries on the island of Islay, the Bruichladdich range is made without peat. Without the influence of smoke, the brilliance of the primary raw ingredient, barley, is exposed. Stepping further outside of whisky tradition, ingredients are traced from origin to bottling - embracing every growing season, the subtlety of changing barley varietals and the methods applied in growing them. With the same vigour, the distilling process is patient and purposeful; with a slow fermentation in wooden washbacks and trickle distillation through tall, narrow necked stills, this 100% Scottish barley distilled spirit is filled into an ever-evolving suite of top-quality casks. In a final commitment to quality and community, this whisky is bottled unchill-filtered and colouring free, inside the distillery gates, using Islay spring water. Over two decades now, high provenance single malts have been stowed in lochside warehouses and have been nestled safely alongside ageing Bruichladdich stocks distilled by a previous generation.
