great for baking
I use this to bake bread, cakes and cookies all the time. Good value for money and important to buy butter organic
UNRELIABLE (CAN TASTE RANCID)
Some reviewers complain of this butter arriving already having gone rancid, others that it goes rancid weeks before its best before date, and one that perhaps the dairy is perhaps not enuring that the cows' udders are properly sterilised. One reviewer claims reviewers complaining of the rancid taste don't undertand the meaning of rancid. Whatever the cause of the bad taste, there is certainly something wrong with this butter. I've tasted rancid butter - butter that has turned rancid due to being kept at room temperature for too long - before and it's certainly the closest I can think of to how this butter has sometimes tasted weeks before its best before date. I recall encountering a problem with Calon Wen cheese a few years ago too - and, I think, their butter. I think that is why I stopped buying Calon Wen. I started buying their butter again recently but have stopped because it's a waste of money when it's bad/goes bad unexpectedly. I keep butter in the fridge; I don't leave it out for longer than it takes me to use it. So I don't see how it can be going rancid unless I am not sealing it properly. But, as I say, there is certainly a problem with Calon Wen butter, and, the last I tried it, their cheese too. It is such a shame they haven't managed to identify the cause, because when there's no problem the taste is really good. It should be as reliable as other brands of butter, but it isn't.
Best organic butter
always go for this it's a bit expensive, but knowing its organic its worth it and tastes delicious too
not like real butter
there are better on the market. it tastes like margarine.
Delicious \x22old fashioned\x22 taste
The best. Other reviews claim a "rancid taste" which imho is a misunderstanding of the word "rancid". This butter is delicious and my first choice when it is available. Yum...
