CARLOS I · BRANDY DE JEREZ SOLERA GRAN RESERVA The history of Carlos I brandies dates back to 1889, when a cellermaster in Jerez discovered some mysterious casks in a corner of his cellar. Neither he nor anyone else knew where they came from, but he immediately realized they contained the finest brandy he had ever tasted. ""A brandy to conquer the world" he thought. And that is why he named it after the Spanish King, Carlos I. Since then, all our brandies are aged in sherry casks and made using the unparalleled Criaderas and Solera system in which young brandies are mixed with more mature blends. Carlos I is a brandy with complex flavour characteristics, in which its deep amber colour heralds an intense aroma with notes of vanilla and cocoa. A good companion for relaxed moments o enjoyment with friends, to drink on its own or in elegant cocktails. An unmistakable brandy. Production and ageing: Its elaboration begins with a careful selection of the best grape wines distilled using the artisanal method of stills of Arabian provenance. Its ageing takes place in sherry casks and thanks to the unique system of Criaderas and Solera, younger distillates are mixed with more mature ones to finally obtain Carlos I, a brandy of unmatched quality.
Tasting notes: Appearance - A deep amber colour punctuated with bold golden highlights. Nose - Intensely aromatic, with notes of vanilla and cocoa. Palate - In the mouth, it is persistent, balanced and complex. Serving suggestions: Serve straight up in a rocks glass with one or two ice cubes. Add a few drops of Angostura Aromatic Bitters and macerate an orange peel with the help of an imperial spoon. Enjoy Carlos I also as a base ingredient for cocktails such as Carlos Cooler, Espresso Carlos or Imperial Manhattan among others. Bottle size: 70cl. Alcohol by volume: 40º.
