Regional information
The Leyda Valley, located south of the San Antonio Valley, is the home of Chile's cool climate wines. The Pacific Ocean off the coast of Chile is very cold due to the influence of the Humboldt Current, which is also responsible for the cool breezes that blow during the day and keep temperatures below 24ºC during the summer months. The seasons are well defined and the daily temperature oscillation is low. All of these variables encourage the polyphenols in the grapes to ripen slowly while acidity levels remain high, resulting in fresh and elegant wines with mineral, even saline, aromas typical of cold climates

Vinification details
The grapes are harvested early in the morning for freshness. They are destemmed and the selected berries are taken to a maceration tank at less than 10° C where they are kept for several hours in order to extract the aromatic components. The juice is then separated from the skins and moved to a decanting tank, where it remains for 12 to 24 hours before being destemmed. The clean juice is inoculated with selected yeasts for better aromatic potential. The alcoholic fermentation is carried out between 11° and 12° C. Once the fermentation is finished, the wine is racked, filtered and bottled.
