Preparation and Usage
Remove all packaging and drain off the water bath. For extra firmness, press the tofu for 10 to 20 mins by placing it in-between two chopping boards lined with kitchen roll and put something heavy on top to apply pressure. Best eaten fried or baked.
Hob: 6 Minutes
Preheat 1 tbsp of oil. Fry over a medium heat, turning frequently, until golden brown.

You Need To Do Something With This
This doesnt work at all in stir-frys - too bland & crumbly. However, if you break it up & add the correct ingredients it makes a good tofu scramble. My best recipe is tofish where I cut this in half, lightly boil for 15 minutes, then wrap in seaweed, dip in highly seasoned batter & lightly fry for a further few minutes.
The Only Tofu I Buy
Cauldron firm tofu has a long shelf life in the fridge and is consistently good quality. I tried another brand not too long ago, and came right back to Cauldron. I use it most often in stir fries and noodle dishes.
Best supermarket tofu
Of the supermarket tofu I've tried, this is the best for crispy fried tofu. It's not too firm, but it still holds its shape when you fry it. Giving 4 stars because packaging could be more sustainable.
Great texture and versatile
I love that this is firm and easy to use in any style and will take on whatever flavouring and seasoning you want. It held it shape when cut up into cubes, panfried and roasted easily and the marinade I used was absorbed readily. For me the other real bonus is that it is one of the few that provides calcium and protein source.
Nice tofu and good price
Easy to press. Nice big block. I baked it in the oven with panco breadcrumbs and rolled in buffalo sauce. Delicious, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Didnt crumble while cooking. Its not the first time buying this product and I will continue to do so.
