Were always my favourite but ruined again
Original CauldronFoods sausages have been my favourite for years. So good in any mainstream meal e.g. sausages in onion gravy, sausage casserole, sausage rolls etc. etc. Then they went vegan - truly awful - stopped buying. I was so pleased when they brought back original recipe. Now ruined again, nasty chewy, tasteless, too much salt and more carbs. Am working my way through many meatless alternatives but nothing compares to CF original sausages. Shame on you CF if you really need a vegan version offer both options or loose many long-standing customers.
Bring back the original recipe \- these are awful!
These were always the best veggie sausages I could find, really tasty, excellent in other recipies - recommended them highly. They then changed to a Vegan version which were horrendous, and soon reverted to their original version - excellent news. However they seem to have changed them again, along with the dreadful packaging, the contents are now awful - admittedly don't seem quite as bad as the last vegan efforts, but still nowhere near as good as the originals. Very disappointed. I am still having to buy them whilst I find a suitable alternative, but these are simply not good enough. Please bring back the original, they were amazing!!!
Tubes of brown sludge
Around a year ago Cauldron changed the recipe and suddenly our favourite veggie sausages became tubes of pink vegan sludge that were inedible. Then sales plummeted and they brought back the original recipe. Hooray, we thought! Theyve seen sense. Now suddenly theyve changed again, this time to thicker tubes, this time of brown sludge, with an odd texture and that split when cooked. Youd have thought Cauldron wouldnt want to risk its customer base again, but apparently not! DO NOT BUY, they awful!
Our fave veggie sausage
Great flavour and texture. We often freeze and cook from frozen too.
better again
Thank goodness they changed the recipe back!
Now what have you done......
..we binned a freezer drawer full of the "vegan " recipe as both taste and texture were disgusting and were really pleased when Cauldron reverted to the original recipe and stocked up again however the bin is beckoning again - there seems to be yet another recipe change , the latest ones are bland and claggy , not even a decent onion gravy makes them taste any better , have Cauldron never heard the phrase "if it aint broke , don't fix it" I suspect it's more to do with economics and the use of cheaper ingredients than " customer feedback "well my feedback is- fool me once , shame on you , fool me twice and I'm off to experiment making my own & I wont be buying these again .As for the new packaging, what was wrong with the old design- it did what it said on the tin -not sure who the new design is aimed at but it looks garish and low quality alongside other products in the supermarket fridge.
