Product information

In true pioneering spirit, Chandon Argentina was founded in 1959 by Moët & Chandon to produce a sparkling wine that combined French winemaking expertise and the passion of Argentina. From the foothills of the Andes, the classic grape varietals of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have been skillfully blended using méthode traditionnalle, resulting in a lively wine with fine bubbles and delicate citrus aromas. Perfect as an aperitif and for special moments shared with friends.

Count Robert Jean de Vogüe, president of Moët & Chandon recognised that, due to the high altitude and cool climate of Mendoza, there was extraordinary potential for developing vineyards and producing high quality sparkling wines beyond Champagne.

Brilliant bubbles

Great alternative to champagne at half the price. Lovely rounded flavour.

Flavourless

Very little flavour of any description. Just dry and fizzy. Compares more with a basic sparkling wine than with Champagne, so certainly not worth buying when the price is in between the two.

too sweet

I recall this being dry and quite excellent when it was Green Point Chandon from Australia. Very disappointing.

Good but inconsistent

I've tried this four times. Three times it was delicious, but the fourth time I was surprised by how sweet it was. Definitely not that sweet on the previous ocasions I've tried it.

Lovely, lived up to expectations

Been intrigued by this for a while but we weren't to sure if the name was a bit of a gimmick. This came up on offer so thought we'd try. Nice and crisp with fine bubbles, not too acidic very impressed.

A remarkably good Champagne impersonation

Tasted blind it would be a seriously tough proposition to split this wine from Moet & Chandon's Imperial NV. The winemaking is excellent and the house style is clearly in evidence. Ripe, juicy citrus, both green and red apples and lovely biscuity, brioche like lees influence. Good concentration, real intensity of flavour and a strong finish. A steal at fifteen quid and even better when discounted.
