History
The history of Chinese grape wine dates back more than 4,600 years. The earliest records are from the Han Dynasty around 206 B.C. Wine consumption was once common in Bronze Age China and vanished completely in ancient times. Modern Chinese wine dates back to the foundation of Changyu in 1892. Changyu is the first winery to produce wine on a grand scale, pioneering modernized wine production in China.
Regional Information
Ningxia lies approximately 1,330 kilometres west of Beijing. It is located in Central Western China on the fringes of the Gobi desert and feeds off the Yellow River that has its source in the clean and natural Tibetan Plateau.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon picked from vines around 15 years old. Immediate bleeding of the de-stemmed grapes for the white in the Cabernet Sauvignon - we have 10 minutes to make this wine with no wood treatment at all

unusual wine, nice taste, peach and exotic fruits with a hint of violet, will order more!

Pleasant Rosé, expensive for what it is
This was a nice rosé, good with spicy food. It's dryish rather than bone dry, and though pleasant enough, does not warrant the price tag on offer (£15) let alone full price (£18). For this money, I'd expect a greater length of flavour and more complexity. I'm pleased we tried it.

Lives up to TV recommendation
Saw this recommended on a Saturday morning cookery programme and took a gamble. Lived up to recommendation with a really smooth taste. So good we have ordered another lot of 6 bottles.

Fantastic!
I didnt know what to expect from a chinese wine. I saw this on Saturday Kitchen and everyone seemed to love it. So I ordered a bottle. And have now ordered a few more. Its delicious.
