Since 1997, when the Despagne family signed the "Charter of quality and integrated farm management" the quality and fame of the wine has increasingly improved. Château Mezain has received many awards. The estate produces red and white wines, both are classified in the Bordeaux appellation

Lovely on the nose but quite sour taste and short finish. But OK with grilled chicken.

Great taste shame about the cork
Bottle was hard to open and cork broke. Had similar problems with quite a few Bordeaux now, unsure why. Nice wine though

Decent bottle of red
