History
Chateau de Montguéret is a large estate covering 100 hectares in the Loire Valley. It covers the Anjou, Saumur and Coteaux du Layon appellations. Built in 1880, the Château is a pure example of Napoleon III style. It also uses three materials from the region, Saumur Tufa, Anjou Schist and Sèvres Brick, on a hillside overlooking Layon.
