Product Information

This blanket regional appellation can apply to wines throughout Burgundy (60% of the area's production) as long as they comply with regulations relating to grape type, yield and alcohol content. Reds and roses are from Pinot Noir or Gamay. Whites are Chardonnay. They are usually the most straightforward of the Burgundy wines, and as a result are the least expensive and the most approachable upon release. In the hands of a more serious producer these can represent exceptional value and quality. The wines are made with the same care and attention to detail as their grander wines. However, they may not qualify for a village or communal appellation because the vines are too young or the vineyard area is outside the appellation boundary.

Please drink responsibly: The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend adults do not regularly drink more than 14 units per week

Brand details

Jean-Paul Peguet created Maison Peguet in 1979. At the time, bottling at the property was still rare, as wines were often sold in barrels. Jean-Paul, unable to become a winemaker due to a lack of available land, decided to start bottling for small local winegrowers.

Thanks to this innovation and commitment, the company is growing rapidly. Later, his sons Cyril and Benjamin joined the adventure, modernizing and developing the business while remaining faithful to the family roots. Maison Peguet represents a successful combination of family heritage, technical expertise, and innovation in the wine industry. For more than four decades, this family-owned and operated wine company has supported winegrowers and developed high-quality wine services while remaining faithful to its values of excellence, innovation, and tradition.

History

Origins of the Family Passion

The history of Maison Peguet began in the 1960s with Roger Peguet, who worked as the estate manager of Château de Boisfranc. His passion for wine and viticulture was transmitted to the next generation.

Creation of Maison Peguet – 1979

In 1979, Jean-Paul Peguet founded Maison Peguet. At that time, estate bottling was still uncommon, as many wines were sold in barrels. Unable to become a winemaker due to limited vineyard availability, Jean-Paul specialized in bottling services for local winegrowers.

Development and Growth

Thanks to growing demand and Jean-Paul’s expertise, the company rapidly expanded its activities throughout France, especially in Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Rhône Valley.

A New Generation

Cyril Peguet and his wife Claudie joined the company in 1996, followed by the brother Benjamin in 2002. Together, they modernized the business while preserving the family spirit and values that define Maison Peguet today.

Modern Vision and Innovation

Maison Peguet continues to innovate and adapt to the evolving needs of the wine industry, while maintaining strong family values and high standards of quality.
