Cotswolds Founders Choice Single Malt Whisky

A cask-strength single malt matured in shaved, toasted and recharred American oak red wine casks. This cask-strength release from the Cotswolds distillery comes from the favourite casks of founder, Daniel Szor. These uniquely active casks give a rich and intense maturation to the distillery's fruity spirit, offering toffee, oak and red fruits, and a beautiful, deep colour.

Our barley is malted for us by hand in Britain's oldest floor maltings, just south of us in Warminster (Wilts). We then mill it ourselves at our Cotswolds distillery.

The barrels were designed by our good friend, Dr Jim Swan, to whose memory we dedicate this special bottling. We hope you enjoy the exceptional depth of flavour in this very approachable English single malt whisky.

Cask strength: Between 59.1% ABV and 60.5% ABV

Malt: 100% locally grown, traditionally floor-malted barley from the Cotswolds.

Yeast: Two complementary varieties - Anchor and Fermentis - ensure good yields and excellent fruity flavours.

Water: Village water supply - filtered, softened and demineralised before use.

Wood: STR (Shaved, Toasted and Re-charred) American oak ex-red wine casks, designed by the late Dr Jim Swan.

We source the finest casks from around the world for our whisky, including first-fill bourbon barrels from Kentucky, wine barriques from France & Portugal and sherry casks from Spain. All barrels are used for full-term maturation, not cask finishing. We use our barrels only once.

We respect our beautiful surroundings and are committed to protecting our environment. Our spent grains feed local cows, our stillage is turned into biogas, and solar energy helps power our distillery.

Ingredients:
25ml Cotswolds Founder's Choice
25ml Sweet vermouth
25ml Campari

Method: Place all ingredients into an ice filled cocktail jar, stir and strain into an ice filled rocks glass. Emebllish with an orange wedge.

Expect toffee, chocolate and red fruit with each sip. Long and fruity finish with chocolate, cherries, fig and clove
