refined sugar free...
technically, the description appears correct because they have used "unrefined cane sugar". But for those who are accustomed to using products that are refined sugar free, we usually understand that to mean coconut sugar, agave, etc. Can cane sugar ever really be unrefined? I feel like this is a misrepresentation although some may not mind, it is important to others.
oh my days, these brownies are amazing!! For us it's all about gluten free and nut free so to find both of these in this one packet.... sensational! the chia seeds give them somewhat of a crunch, but personally I like that and so did the hubby (after he noticed) these will be in my trolley every month!
Tasty! But a little misleading...
These are very tasty brownies, but nothing about them is healthy apart from a very small amount of chia seeds (so small that my guests didn't even notice them). I used coconut oil and eggs in the mix and didn't add the vanilla, which still yielded a very good brownie. The texture was a bit like the small brownie bites you find in shops. I'd recommend these for sure, but not as a "healthy alternative" as there's far too much sugar for that.
Best tasting brownies
Love the concept and these tasted extraordinary and were SO easy to make - just disappointed to see sugar is still the main ingredient so not really "healthy" for children if looking to find something alternative for them - deceptive in that regard
These make lighter cakey brownies than gooey ones but they taste sooo good. We couldnt stop eating them! We used eggs and butter so our werent vegan. Defo buying lots more of these!!
Made plain chocolate sponge cake not brownies
Tasted bland and artificial. The mix also contains chia seeds which totally ruin the brownie eating experience. I followed the recipe to the letter but, they tasted awful. We threw the entire bake tray in the bin after nibbling on a corner of one.
Hi EllaEllaElla, we are sorry you were not happy with our baking mix. It would be great to know if you made the vegan or the non-vegan version, as we have found that with the vegan version the brownies are more gooey and rich. Although our brownie mix is usually a hit, we hope you try out the other variants of the mixes we have as we're sure you will find a favourite amongst them!
