Preparation and Usage
FOR PERFECTLY COOKED VENISON & PHEASANT, OUR HEAD CHEF RECOMMENDS: CASSEROLE Preheat oven to 170°C (160°C fan/gas mark 3). Toss in a little seasoned flour. Heat oil in a casserole dish and fry over a medium heat until well-browned. Add seasonal vegetables and cook for 5 minutes. Add 400ml of good stock, some wine and cover. Pop in the oven and cook for 2 hours or until the meat is tender. You may need to top up liquid during cooking if required. Perfect with a handful of fresh herbs scattered over the top before serving.

I got this on a flash sale. Bit pricey for us otherwise, but the casserole I made was very tasty. I used the recipe on the pack/usage instructions here, using onions, carrot, celery and mushrooms as the seasonal vegetables (mushrooms added late on) and adding bay leaf and thyme with salt and pepper. Lovely tender meat, no gristly bits, minimal fat.
Got this on flash sale, stock it in the freezer for my mum right away. When she defrosted it a couple weeks later, she said it made a really lovely stew, tender and very succulent. No weird chewy bits. Thumbs up.
