Gross rind and fatty
Ours wasn't too salty at all, soaked for half an hour then rinsed and topped with boiling kettle water and simmered for an hour and a bit as directed before ten minutes in the oven. I will say it was underweight and had a horrible dirty, hairy rind and tons of fat on and running through it. I've never had a gammon like that and it doesn't look like that in the pictures so unsure if normal. It ended up a little dry without a whole lot of flavour but perhaps i overcooked it as the small size threw me off. Would probably give it another chance in a flash sale but wouldn't even consider full price.
was so salty it was inedible. dont know what they did to it
Don't like leaving negative reviews but I found this so salty as to be inedible. Urghhh! So bad my husband was up in the night to go get water. Did I have an "off" one or is the curing of this product regularly this salty? Afraid at this price I definitely won't chance a second go.
Went down very well with the whole family.
Really good, everyone enjoyed it and there were no leftovers. Fed 9 people.
Not bad, just disappointingly small once cooked, so not good value. P.s. I dont soak I just bring to the boil (from cold water) twice before cooking on and it tastes fine
Does not keep once cooked any more
This gammon has obviously had the salt content reduced. Previously it was tasty and kept well once cooked. The last 2 weeks, when cooked on a Sunday, has gone off by Tuesday lunchtime. Prior to that would have given 5 stars.
