Don Q Gran Anejo Reserva XO

Originally from Cataluña, Spain, the Serralés family migrated to Puerto Rico in the 1830's where they established a sugar cane plantation and later imported a still from Cognac, in 1865, to produce rum. Now the number 1 selling brand in Puerto Rico, Don Q has no artificial sweeteners added to any of their rums and are the most eco-friendly and environmentally conscious distillery in the Caribbean.

For 6 generations, the Serrallés family have been distilling fine, Puerto Rican rums, for over 150 years. The Don Q brand was launched in 1932, inspired by the character Don Quixote.

This Gran Anejo expression is a masterful blend of 7 different rums aged from 9 to 12 years in American white oak barrels. In addition, carefully aged Solera rum’s (aged up to 50 years) from our Spanish sherry casks are added to provide an extra level of depth. In the subtle aroma you can identify hints of vanilla and dark caramel, originating from the prolonged contact of the rum with the barrel.

Don Q Gran Anejo Old Fashioned

Ingredients

50ml Don Q Gran Añejo Rum

2 sugar cubes

2 dashes Angostura Bitters

2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters

Orange peel

Premium cherry

Directions

Place sugar cube in Old Fashioned glass. Add bitters and muddle. Add Don Q Gran Añejo Rum, cubed ice and stir for dilution. Garnish with orange peel and cherry.
