like real bread!
I wanted to have a gluten free bread with less additives than pre packaged bread, so thought Id give this a try. Ive only made bread a couple of times and never made a gluten free one, so this was a first. So easy to mix up. Proved for an hour or so, then I baked it in the air fryer. Set the temperature 10 degrees lower than stated and checked it after 30 minutes. It clearly wasnt cooked through as it didnt sound hollow when I tapped the base of the loaf. I think in all it took approx 50 minutes to cook. Definitely dont cut into it whilst warm as it goes gluey and you think its still raw. Yes, I did this and it looks truly disgusting. Thankfully I didnt throw it away, as once itd fully cooled down, I cut into it and it looked like a normal bread loaf. Best eaten on same day as its baked, its a crusty topped loaf. Much heavier on day two but is still perfect toasted. Sliced and frozen the remainder for toasting. Will definitely buy again!
Successful!
I made a loaf for a gluten intolerant friend using this mix in my Panasonic bread maker. It was incredibly easy, I just followed the instructions on the pack, tipped the mix into the bread pan, added water and oil, set the programme to quick bake, large loaf, dark crust and 2 hrs later I had a well risen slightly pale but crusty loaf which smelled just like regular bread, and according to friend was delicious and much better than any shop bought gluten free. I wish I could post a photo but can’t seem to be able to do that.
Bread Machine recipe doesn’t work
If you use a bread machine on GF setting it isn’t fully baked and deflates. I was adamant to use my bread machine because I don’t want the faff so I don’t let it complete second rise and then I put it on the bake setting and choose a custom time of 1 hr 20 mins. Turned out perfect!
Lovely, better than shop made
Bought this to make for a relative who is gluten intolerant. She said it was far better than any she had bought ready made. Easy to use, just added water and oil and baked in my bread maker. Expensive but then gluten free products are.
Easy and delicious
Made three loaves by hand and they are perfect. Will freeze two loaves to see if they survive, but we're delighted with the texture and flavour of the bread.
Amazing!
I left my packet till past its best date but no worries. I made it this morning to go with homemade burgers. Yummy!
