This is my go to flour! It is awesome in fluffy pancakes and sponge cakes too. Rises really well, never had an issue with it. It reminds me of tesco organic flour which I rate as highly as this one.
This is very fine and feels dry - as someone said - like ash. It floats about and gets up your nose. And feels strangely dead and not nice and soft. Very odd.
My favourite flour.
My favourite self raising flour and Ive tried many! Great for pancakes, cakes, never had any issues with it!
Best SR flour
I've tried most self raising flours and find this the best. It is fine ground and keeps well, unlike some cheaper flours which taste musty very quickly. I disagree with a previous reviewer that it has a strong wheat taste, but then what would you expect wheat flour to taste of?
uh..it's okay. Strong wheat taste
I didn't expect such a strong wheat taste. Doesn't work well scones, biscuits, cookies, brownies...etc. Great as a thickener but would not recommend unless you like a distinctive wheat taste. As I do have a dairy allergy and I am a dairy free, soy and egg minimalist vegetarian, I cook A LOT. The British diet is just as or even more rich than the American diet with all the dairy, egg, and mayo in absolutely everything. I also cook a lot of -revised- southern american food and this is good for my gravies and sauces but for sweet things; I'm going to stick to white flour.
