If only this bath bomb lived up to its smell!
Ocado sent this bath bomb for me to review for free. As I don't use anything in my bath water, I gave it to my daughter to try, and this is her reply: Unfortunately, this bath bomb does not live up to its price or beautiful smell. It turned the bath water a murky brown colour! I didn't realise that there was a whole star anise within the bomb until I sat on it, which was quite painful! I wish I could say that the water was the only thing that it stained. As I got out of my bath, I saw that the whole of my body was also stained in random patches, which I couldn't even remove by scrubbing! Then I noticed that my bath was also stained. It took me 10 minutes to bleach clean, I was hoping my skin would be left feeling silky and smell of almonds, as the packaging suggested... instead, my hands are left feeling sore and dry, and I smell of lemons with a touch of bleach thrown in! My skin is also very itchy. What a disaster!!!
good bath bomb
I really enjoyed this bath bomb, smells were amazing and the water was very soft. 4 stars only because of the price, I think it's too expensive for 1 bath bomb
smells divine, but makes a terrible mess
Lesson learned: dont drop mysterious concoctions into the bath water. It smelled great out of the package, and the single dried star anise was a nice touch... in appearance but mighty sharp if you forgot to extract it before dipping your naked body in the tub. My toddler loved watching the ball fizz up in the water. But then... I was left with a pink, grainy oil slick atop my formerly clean bath water. And when the bath water drains? The residue remains. It Durant rinse it requires hand-scrubbing with soap. At least twice over. Dont bother. More of a novelty to gift to someone you believe deserves more mess and hassle in their otherwise magnificent life.
Not worth the mess
To start with the positive- this smells lovely, the bath bomb itself is pretty cute looking and it made for a pretty nice bath. However shortly after putting the bath bomb in, I noticed that there was a lot of reddish colour oil floating on top of the water, presumably the oils used to scent it. I found this clung to my skin a lot after the bath and also to the bath itself. I was left with a reddish line where the water level was around my bath which had to be scrubbed off, not exactly what I'd like to be doing after a relaxing bath. It would have been fine if the oils weren't so bright, but it was a very noticeable stain. The red oils are the main reason I've given a low score, but the price also seems no way worth it, I'd maybe prefer a few smaller bath bombs rather than one huge one for this price.
Bath Bomb Vanilla
I love the smell of this and the slow melt into the bath. My skin felt soft and moisturised. It is great that this is vegan so suitable for all, however as it is quiet expensive it works well as a major treat or a present, but not for everyday use.
