it's meant to taste this way
for those reviews saying tasteless and useless for hot chocolate. I think you are maybe mixing this up with cocoa that's been pretty mixed with sugars etc . this is the raw Cocoa that is used for baking etc and mixes with sugar to give that rich taste wanted. this is a staple in our house for baking and adding to dessert recipes for a chocolaty finish

Makes your cakes really dark and chocolaty
I use cocoa to make a hot chocolate, and in cooking. This stuff is vile. Plus it has acidity regulators added, which is unnecessary and spoils the taste.
This cocoa powder has a wonderfully dark, rich taste. I try and keep my carbs as low as possible (Type 1) and out of all the cocoa powders sold by Ocado, this one has by far the lowest carb value. I make an incredibly delicious zero sugar, low carb rum truffle with it - absolutely divine. :-)
Did not like this as a drinking cocoa as tasteless so would not even try in baking
Tasteless cigarette ash. Too alkalized I think. Dark colour is not worth the loss in flavour.
