Get Baking!
Step 1. Bake your cupcakes
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/ 160°C fan/ gas mark 4 approximately 10 minutes before your bake is ready to go in the oven. Place the cupcake cases into a cupcake tray.
2. Add the cupcake mix, 50g soft butter, 60ml (4tbsp) milk and 1 medium egg to a bowl and mix with a wooden spoon until combined.
3. Spoon the mixture evenly into the 12 cupcake cases.
4. Bake in the centre of the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cupcakes are a light golden colour.
5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before decorating.
Step 2. Make the buttercream
1. Now make up your buttercream by mixing the buttercream mix and 65g soft butter until the buttercream is light and fluffy. Add 1-2tsp milk if a lighter buttercream is preferred.
2. Spread the buttercream evenly over the cooled cupcakes.
Step 3. Create your slime. This is where things get gooey!
In the microwave:
1. Add the slime mix and 170ml water into a microwavable bowl and stir well using a wooden spoon or spatula.
2. Microwave at 900W for 1 minute on full power, stir, then microwave for another 1 minute and stir again. Watch as the slime starts to thicken!
3. Continue to microwave the mixture in 15 second bursts, stirring until the slime thickens and the colour darkens.
4. Leave to cool for 10 minutes before decorating your cupcakes.
On the hob:
1. Add the slime mix and 170ml water to a medium pan and stir well using a wooden spoon or spatula.
2. Heat the slime mix over a medium to high heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly until the slime mix begins to bubble and reaches boiling point.
3. Once it begins to bubble, reduce to a low heat and stir constantly for 2-3 minutes, until the slime has thickened and is darker in colour.
4. Almost there! Transfer to a bowl and leave the slime to cool for 10 minutes before decorating your cupcakes.
