Our inspiration comes from the state of New Mexico. We use a classic combination of red beans with sweet peppers and tomatoes, spiked with jalapeño chilli. Known to aficionados in that part of the world as "Bowl o' Red".
Originating from North America, they have a slightly sweetish flavour and a floury texture. Most often associated with Mexican cuisine, they are however used throughout the Americas and the Caribbean and also India, where they are known as rajma. Red beans are an excellent source of iron.

Great, tasty low calorie meal that is filling.
I love healthy ready meals but cant stand it when they are no good as they are. Add rice to this and I imagine it would be ok. On its own just very watery and thin, and doesnt really fill you up. The lentil pot and French cuisine pots are great though. Shame and I hope it improves.
OK, but could be much better with little effort
It tastes ok and has some nice flavours in there....but it is very sweet, a bit on the thin side and some of the veg is still quite crunchy. Add less sugar and cook it longer - easy fix.
Perfect for lunch
I received this first on a flash offer, but I've gone back and ordered the other flavours...so far this and the Moroccan one are my favourite. Both are less than 5% fat, good protein but I add a bit of chicken to the meal, or have a sweet protein bar after. My only complaint is how high salt content, but it tastes good so I just watch my salt the rest of the day when I have this for lunch.
Not very impressed
Rather watery and lacking in flavour. I like my chilli with more tomato and substance.
It's ok, but overpriced
I really like the bean concept, but overall i thought it was a lot of money for a pot of bean chilli. It was a bit watery for my liking too. I might buy it again on offer but not sure
