Edmond de Rothschild Aguaribay Malbec

The "Aguaribay" is a typical and emblemactic tree of the Mendoza region, perfectly adapted to the medium altitude of the Andes. Flechas de Los Andes is the result of an alliance between Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Mr Laurent Dassault, reflecting the fulfilment of their quest to find a great terroir at the base of the Andes. Located 120km south of Mendoza, Argentina, near the village of the Vista Flores, the Malbec is king of this unique land of the Cordillera together with the Aguaribays bordering the parcels of vines. After carefully hand harvested at the end of March 2023 , the fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. 30% of the wine is then aged for 12 months in French Oak barrels for subtle oak spices.100% Malbec

Related to the Pepper tree family, this evergreen tree is highly recognizable for the stylish thin leaves, jagged, and drooping elegantly.

At the foot of the Andes, 120km south of Mendoza, on the ground where the Aguaribay tree grows, we planted our vineyard, at 1100m altitude.

This 100% Malbec is a fresh, juicy style. On the nose it shows some earthy aromas of ripe red plum, dark cherries and cassis and violets, plus a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, It's medium to full bodied, juicy and flagrant, with fine-grained well integrated tannins.

Sustainable precision viticulture. Vines are managed in Guyot with drip irrigation. Grapes are handpicked during March and a further hand selection of berries is made in the cellars before and after destemming. Tanks are gravity filled with pumping over in stainless steel. Aged for 12 months in French oak.
