Product Information
Château des Laurets at Puisseguin Saint Emilion benefits from a clay-limestone terroir which is naturally ideal for growing Merlot. Baron Benjamin de Rothschild acquired and renovated this superb property in 2003, with the desire to develop all its potential. The wine is fermented in oak and stainless steel tanks for a perfect balance. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels (30% new). Between vanilla and dark fruits combine with well-integrated oak on this Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend. Exquisite elegance, great length with refined tannins. This wine will perfectly match with appetizers, white or red meat (with some veal rolls or beef piece for instance) grilled in sauce and fine cheeses.

Regional information
The vines of Chateau de Laurets are spread over two neighbouring appellations, Montagne Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint Emilion. Clay limestone soil gives Merlot based Saint-Emilion wine its distinctive taste.
Tasting notes
The nose reveals intense notes of black fruit with a predominance of plum. An elegant touch of spice gives way to a note of liquorice.
The attack on the palate is bold and crisp. The sensation of crisp black fruit prevails, offering a subtle array of ripe fresh fruit such as plums. The finish is long, yet not too opulent, with an exquisite tight and clear-cut tannic structure. A slightly roasted note underlines this extremely lovely wine, ending on a hint of liquorice to echo the nose. The excellent balance between the wine’s structure and good acidity promises great bottle ageing of over 10 years.
