Went down well.
Smelled delicious. And i had a cheeky taste and was one of the nicer baby foods. Went down very well with my grandson.
Quite bland and without flavour
I am writing this review based on me being an adult, with gastroparesis and other numerous health issues that make it difficult to get down food, so I am not the intended market. I buy baby foods as they are easy to digest and keep down. I've bought many baby foods now and many, many from this brand. There a some pretty good baby foods out there, full of flavour. And then there are others that lack any flavour, are bland and quite tasteless. This one falls into the bland and tasteless category. There is no identifiable tastes in this sadly, no beef, mainly just a tomato and bland veggie broth. Even when i salted it well there was no taste to this, so wouldn't buy this one again (though the same flavour of this aimed towards older children with texture and chunks is much better.) This would not be a re buy for me. But I can appreciate the two reviews below saying how there children who were ill took to it. It is very bland, so in that respect I can see it working well for one's who are poorly, where less flavour is sometimes a good thing
watery and lacking beef
Baby loves beef stew but rejected this and I don't blame him. Only 10% beef and it's pretty tasteless.
Use when daughter is unwell and won't eat
My second born has textural issues when it comes to food. Although she eats well now, with a bit of encouragement, when she is unwell it all quickly goes out of the window. We used this particular Ella's in amongst home made food when she was young and she always gobbled it all up. We now can end up resorting to this Ella's pouch to make sure she has something nutritious in her tum. She is almost 3 now ans she will eat two in a sitting. But knowing she has something good in her tummy when she in under the wether gives me great peace of mind. .
Baby Comfort Food
One of my twins was hospitalised for a week when he was 13 months old. He was very poorly and refused to eat anythig homemade - we resorted to this beef stew and the Ella's kitchen Fish pie that he and his brother used to eat when out and about. Worked a treat. Eternally grateful, I always have several in the cupboard to mix with plain pasta or rice - for when they are feeling in need of a treat! Not the cheapest baby food on the market however certainly very loved by my toddler twins.
baby fave
my baby loves this flavour, and at 11 months she still loves it despite being on more grown up food - it's handy to have a couple of these knowing she'll eat them no matter what (teething, cold etc).
