They are part of the cultural identity of the region where this handcraft has been made for centuries. Also following the region's winemaking tradition, its diversity of grape varieties and vinification techniques, this wine reveals the typical character of the region: rich aromas, soft palate and an excellent gastronomic aptitude.

Launched in 1992, its name comes from the hill next to the Caridade reservoir, at Herdade do Esporão in Alentejo. The grape varieties and vinification techniques follow the region's tradition and show its true character: rich aromas, smooth palate and excellent gastronomic bent. The grapes are supplied by different partners sharing sustainable practices which are crucial to soil quality and fertility, naturally protect the vineyard and influence the quality of the wines.

Intense spicy aroma of mature red berry fruits with complex subtle toasty notes. Full bodied with good depth of flavours & fine tannins.

Since starting out in 1973, Herdade do Esporão has grown into one of the leading estates in the Alentejo, and in the process have brought the wines of this warm, dry region to an audience that pushes far beyond Portugal.
