A welcome return

- and not just for myself. We've been giving our old mastiff a tin of this every morning for years, for her joints, and we were disappointed when Ocado stopped stocking it. Glad it's back.

Mixed feelings

I love tinned mackerel but these tins sometimes seem to have loads of water in and less fish. Sometimes the fish tastes dry despite being canned in water. When mixed in a salad or with mayo or a dressing its very tasty but tastes surprisingly dry and bland by itself.

Why have you stopped selling this fish in Olive Oil or Tomato Sauce???????? I find it impossible to believe that this mackerel in spring water is a better seller than the one in Olive Oil. Now you are forcing me to buy the John West Mackerel in Olive Oil which is nearly double the price and not as good. The John West Mackerel in tomato and basil sauce is disgusting. For the price of the John West tins I might as well buy fresh mackerel when I buy tins for a quick lunch or evening meal. Listen to your customers and bring the other Essential Waitrose Mackerel varieties back!

spot on!

It's almost impossible to buy tinned fish without salt added, but here it is! Tasty, meaty, healthy - perfect!

Not as tasty as Essential Waitrose Mackerel in....

....tomato. Unfortunately Ocado have discontinued it. My family far prefer the mackerel in tomato. If Ocado bring this back we will be buying a lot more mackerel.
