A little birdie told us, one fine day a meringue dessert was being oh-so-carefully carried to an Eton college cricket match... When it was accidentally dropped. Still, the show must go on. They served up the mess and it was gloriously, deliciously good.
Crack into your raspberry meringue cloud and fill with spoonfuls of vanilla whipped cream or mascarpone; Rich and silky, and just the right side of sweet.
Layer with fresh raspberries or juicy dark cherries for a tangy contrast. Finish with a generous drizzle of melted white chocolate, a crumble of shortbread, or meringue sprinkles. Delightfully messy, utterly glorious.
