Not plastic free
These will still sit in landfill for thousands of years. The plastic is recycled but it is still plastic. They are slightly better than the non recycled plastic ones but they are 6, 7 times the price. For that I would expect them to be compostable or at least recyclable. Completely plastic free
Does the job
These *do* have some plastic in them--recycled, in principle. Seems better than the typical completely virgin plastic sponges from an environmental perspective though, and certainly more absorbent/nicer quality. No scratches on my non-stick pans, which is great. Would be nice if Ocado would stock a properly plastic-free option with a scrubber though.
Made of plastic
Reviewers don't seem to be reading the constituent parts list of this sponge. It's made of plastic. - not "better than horrible plastic ones", "Theyre not going to sit in landfill for 250 years". Oh yes they are. I would be much more honest to call the scrubber "Full CIrcle plastic Scouring Pads" and have done.
Buying a second lot
Lasting really well, had them for months now. Much better than horrible plastic ones. Still in perfect condition, no falling apart at all. Wash easily. No problems here. Got the EcoCoconut scourer for harder to clean objects. They haven't been used them with anything like bleach to my knowledge.
only lasted a week
These clean fine when theyre new but the scourer side quickly breaks down and comes away from the sponge. Its all very well saying theyre machine washable but if they dont last long enough to get to the stage where they need washing its of no use. Also if they have to be thrown away after a week you need to use 4 or 5 times as many as a regular scourer meaning the eco friendly aspect diminishes significantly. I would not buy these again.
Sturdy eco-friendly sponge!
Works just as well as leading branded sponges and is eco-friendly too. Win-win!
