Product information

The aromatic complexity, structure, and long finish of this champagne are similar to those of a great white wine. Served with a starter, G.H.MUMM goes well with citrus and shellfish salad, pasta with prawns, steamed white fish or dry-cured Italian ham. This cuvée is made exclusively with wine from the 2008 harvest, remarked to be a very fine year, it is then cellar-aged for five years (double the length of time required by legislation).

Tasting Notes
To The Eye The wine's yellow robe is highlighted with glints of golden reflections. On The Nose A supremely light and elegant vintage, the wine opens with lush aromas of fresh white and stone fruits - a hint of pear is perceptible. Alluring floral notes give way to delicious nuances of brioche, fresh-churned butter and fresh hazelnuts. On The Palate A sensation of great freshness, displaying flavors of peach and greengage plum. The wine shows elegant balance, delighting with its long finish and a lively finale that hints at pastry and buttery brioche. In The Cellar Properly cellared, Mumm Millésimé 2013 will continue to age after purchase for up to 10 years. Its buttery, brioche notes will develop
History
Vinified separately, this Cuvée is made exclusively with wine from the 2006 harvest, and was already judged to be exceptional in November when the wines were first tasted. The year that produced it began with a relatively cold winter followed by a mild spring and a variable summer (a heatwave in July and a rainy month of August). The harvest was ¿saved¿ by the sun and wind in September which provided ideal conditions for the grapes to reach maturity.
Regional Information
The Champagne wine region is a historic province within the administrative province of Champagne in the northeast of France. The area is best known for the production of the sparkling white wine that bears the region's name. EU law and the laws of most countries reserve the term ""Champagne"" exclusively for wines that come from this region. The high altitude and mean annual temperature of 10 °C (50 °F) creates a difficult environment for wine grapes to fully ripen. Ripening is aided by the presence of forests which helps to stabilize temperatures and maintain moisture in the soil. The cool temperatures serve to produce high levels of acidity in the resulting grape which is ideal for sparkling wine.

Well balanced

A well balanced champagne, with soft, long lasting bubbles. Initially it tastes quite fresh and fruity but then pairs down to a lovely buttery/nutty flavour, which I really enjoyed, I would buy this again for a special occasion.
