Product Information

A blend driven by Pinot Noir, Maison Mumm's emblematic variety. Mumm Millésimé expresses all of the noble grape's potential for long, harmonious aging. This cuvée is made with fruits from the House's finest terroirs, principally from the historic Grand Cru villages of Ambonnay, Mailly, Bouzy, Verzy, Mareuil-sur-Ay.

Mumm Millésimé has already matured for several years in the House's historic cellars, and promises splendid aging potential for years to come. Today the cuvée exhibits magnificent complexity and elegance, with lush aromas of ripe white stone fruits preceding rich notes of brioche, butter and hazelnuts.

Storage

Sparkling wines and Champagne should always be stored in a cool and dry place away from light and heat sources. The ideal temperature for storage is 13-15 degrees C.

Warning: Sparkling wines contain high natural pressure. Do not allow bottles to get warm. Chill bottle before opening and avoid shaking. Point bottle away from others and yourself when removing wire, hood and cork. Hold the cork firmly and twist out slowly by hand. Never in any circumstances use a corkscrew to open.

Preparation and Usage

Served with a starter, G.H.MUMM Millésimé goes well with a hot or cold vegetable or fish broth, or a citrus and shellfish salad. With a main course it enhances dishes from a wide variety of world cuisines: cold Japanese pasta with prawns, steamed white fish served with lemon confit or wrapped in dry-cured Italian ham.

The aromatic complexity, structure, and long finish of G.H.MUMM Millésimé are similar to those of a great white wine. Recommended serving temperature is between 10°C and 12°C.

Regional information

The Champagne wine region is a historic province within the administrative province of Champagne in the northeast of France. The area is best known for the production of the sparkling white wine that bears the region's name. EU law and the laws of most countries reserve the term ""Champagne"" exclusively for wines that come from this region. The high altitude and mean annual temperature of 10 °C (50 °F) creates a difficult environment for wine grapes to fully ripen. Ripening is aided by the presence of forests which helps to stabilize temperatures and maintain moisture in the soil. The cool temperatures serve to produce high levels of acidity in the resulting grape which is ideal for sparkling wine.

Tasting notes

To The Eye The wine's yellow robe is highlighted with glints of golden reflections. On The Nose A supremely light and elegant vintage, the wine opens with lush aromas of fresh white and stone fruits - a hint of pear is perceptible. Alluring floral notes give way to delicious nuances of brioche, fresh-churned butter and fresh hazelnuts. On The Palate A sensation of great freshness, displaying flavors of peach and greengage plum. The wine shows elegant balance, delighting with its long finish and a lively finale that hints at pastry and buttery brioche. In The Cellar Properly cellared, Mumm Millésimé will continue to age after purchase for up to 10 years. Its buttery, brioche notes will develop
