HOW TO ENJOY
For the more adventurous, top GAIL’s San Francisco Sourdough with ricotta, sliced peaches and a drizzle of honey. Or, for more traditional palates, spread with a crunchy nut butter and sprinkle of salt.
Baked fresh and never with any preservatives, we recommend storing GAIL’s sourdough in a cool, dry place. To keep the bread for longer, slice immediately and store in an airtight container in the freezer, taking out slices and toasting, as desired.
Towards the end of its life, we recommend transforming the loaf into croutons, bruschetta or even French toast.

Bought in the flash sale - fabulous
Expensive but tasty when toasted
It looks quite dry but the taste is wonderful when toasted.
Tasteless white loaf.
I buy this from my local gails on a weekly basis, and I still can't quite understand why each time it looks, tastes, and is so different than what's in offer in gails shops?
Only good for toast
In a moment of laziness, I bought sourdough instead of making it. Mistake. The texture was wrong, it was far too heavy, and it felt like an old loaf. I suspect that buying factory-produced sourdough bread is probably a mistake. However, toasting helped revitilise it.
BEST SOURDOUGH IN LONDON
I get one San Fran every week from Gail's and now from Ocado, it's my Friday morning treat! Never disappoints, it's quite sweet and soft and elevates breakfast as toast or plain with salted butter. Love it!
