We bake our loaves daily by hand, with natural ingredients, using time-honoured techniques and decades-old starters.
HOW TO ENJOY
The GAIL’s White Sourdough is a loaf for all occasions: enjoy thickly sliced and toasted with melted butter, spread with jam, or as an open sandwich.
STORAGE
Baked fresh and never with any preservatives, we recommend storing GAIL’s sourdough in a cool, dry place. To keep the bread for longer, slice immediately and store in an airtight container in the freezer, taking out slices and toasting, as desired.
Towards the end of its life, we recommend transforming the loaf into croutons, bruschetta or even French toast.

Brand
We bake our loaves daily by hand with natural ingredients, and though we’re always innovating, our baking is based on time-honoured techniques and our decades-old starters.
Nothing gives us as much pleasure as a freshly baked, lovingly crafted loaf.
Our first GAIL’s bakery opened in London’s Hampstead High Street in 2005. And now we’re bringing our neighbourhood bakery even closer to you, making good bread more widely available to our community.
Though we’ve grown over the years, our philosophy has remained the same: to make good food that people love, and create bakeries that people want to keep coming back to.

Dense
Dense, a little doughy and discernible average in flavour, as Ive found most loaves from this brand, Im a little disappointed considering the price point. I once got a beautiful loaf from this brand but since then the aforementioned description has fit them all.
Delicious but need to toast
Love this bread and its few ingredients, no additives etc. Great flavour but it is dense & stale almost on arrival! So not to buy if you want it fresh as need to toast it or freeze. But makes best toast/ toastie/ garlic bread ever though which lasts for quite a few days
Proper bread
I love this, it tastes great even if a couple of days old, just toast. Full of goodness, great brand, great taste, no nasties. Bread as intended
VERY FRENCH COMPARISON
The method of preparation results in an excellent equivalent to a French sourdough bread. It would be very nice to have a ready sliced version for convenience and freezing, if required. It brought to mind a particular breakfast in Paris years ago with butter and preserves and the fresh coffee in a vast French breakfast mug. A lovely touch of nostalgia for me. A very commendable product!
stale
Like a brick - thought it was a once off but not the case
Best ever!
We order this every week. A loaf lasts us 3 -4 days for breakfast toast. We have tried others but always come back to this one. Terrible for the teeth but always absolutely yummy!
