“Excuse me while I get moist-eyed: Hawksmoor filled a yawning gap in our culinary life. One of my favourite restaurants of the last 10 years.” Jay Rayner, Observer
The key to great steak is happy cattle. Since we opened our first restaurant in 2006, we’ve been working with passionate British farmers doing things the old-fashioned way. Slowly, carefully, always focusing on the health and happiness of the animals and the land on which they graze. We believe that animal welfare, sustainable farming and supporting independent farmers are not just the right thing to do – they’re as close as you can get to a guarantee of great tasting beef.
From our network of passionate farmers this traditional breed British beef is exactly the same as we serve in our restaurants in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Beef, salt, heat. When it’s as simple as that the beef really has to be the best there is.
“Flawless. The best steak you’ll find anywhere.” Giles Coren, The Times

Preparation and Usage
If the weather allows, grill on the barbecue over white hot coals. If not, use a cast-iron griddle or heavy-gauge frying pan and get very hot (if using a frying pan add a nugget of beef dripping). Season generously with Maldon sea salt just before cooking and turn the steak regularly until it forms a delicious dark golden brown crust. Use a temperature probe to hit your desired cuisson (guideline temperatures included on packaging).

Fabulous treat
Absolutely fantastic , quality steak. It was succulent, tasty and tender. We thoroughly enjoyed it served with roasted tomatoes, petit pois , triple cooked chips and bearnaise sauce. What a fabulous treat.
Simply Stunning
Hawksmoor Steak never fails, Ive watched there video on how to cook there steaks, check there website. Cast iron skillet and Maldon sea salt. The result is epic. Restaurant quality at home.
Amazing
After reading the reviews on this I took it out of my trolley but then decided to put it back in and I am so glad I did….I am one that only leaves a review when I am wowed and this steak certainly did that. Such a shame the quality fluctuates so much, probably QC should be addressed then everyone can enjoy the amazing mouth watering experience you should have from such a delicious product.
Didn\x27t love it
Surprised to not enjoy it, so thick, not so much on flavour either.
Superior steak, great flavour.
With a gentle taste of aged steak, this was a fantastic porterhouse. The weather did not allow us to barbecue, so we used a griddle pan to sear, and then popped in the oven for 20 minutes. It was medium rare, and we really enjoyed it. The fillet was a generous size, and was so tender you could have cut it with a spoon. Will buy again for sure!
Not great and poor value for money
This is the third different Hawksmoor steak cut we've tried and this was by far the worst. The bone was huge, the cut had lots of fat and so we ended up with quite skimpy portions. The meat wasn't particularly tender and the flavour disappointing. For the price, I would have expected better. Maybe just unlucky but at this price, I won't be taking the risk again.
