Our award-winning free-range Herb Fed whole chickens are renowned for their exceptional flavour, succulence and tenderness, making them the perfect centrepiece for a family roast. Each chicken serves 5–7 people.
We are Edward and Emma Wilkinson, and we raise our Herb Fed chickens on the rolling pastures of Yorkshire. Our birds enjoy a slow-grown, free-range life in small flocks, with the freedom to roam, forage and express their natural behaviours.
What makes Herb Fed truly unique is our pioneering fresh herb diet. We are the UK's first and only producer actively enriching the flocks feed with nutrient-rich herbs sourced locally from a family herb farm. These surplus herbs, which would otherwise go to waste, provide a natural source of vitamins and minerals while supporting a more sustainable approach to farming.
Combined with a locally milled, additive-free cereal diet, high welfare standards and a slower growing period, our distinctive feeding programme & ethos helps create the exceptional eating quality for which Herb Fed has become renowned. The result is beautifully textured chicken with remarkable depth of flavour – not overtly herby, simply delicious.

Storage
Keep refrigerated below 4ºC. Suitable for home freezing. Freeze on day of purchase and use within three months. Defrost thoroughly before cooking. Do not refreeze once defrosted.
Preparation and Usage
Do not wash raw poultry and always wash your hands after handling raw meat. Remove the chicken from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking.
Preheat your oven to 190ºC or gas mark 5. Remove all packaging before cooking and place the bird on a roasting tray and season. Cook for 18 minutes per 450g. Baste every 20 minutes with the tray juices. The chicken is cooked when juices from deep within the thigh run clear when skewered. If the bird is not cooked check every 10 minutes after the allocated cooking time. Rest the chicken for 15 minutes before carving.
If cooking from frozen, ensure the bird is thoroughly defrosted before cooking. Use within 24 hours and do not refreeze once defrosted.
