The Best
Unbeatable tomatoes for a pizza base. Yum!!!
All juice No tomatoes
Bought these on offer, glad it was not full price, there were 3 tomatoes in the can, once taken out over have the contents was juice
Unremarkable
I wouldn't buy these tomatoes over a good quality organic type. They are small, the juice is thin and watery and they are pink, not red, like true San Marzano tomatoes.
Terrific
As djw10 wrote these are terrific for Italian cooking. They take my Amatriciana to a new level of yumminess.
San Marzano
San Marzano are the king of tomatoes for using in Italian cooking. They are more expensive than other tinned tomatoes, so wouldnt be first choice if cooking on a budget but if you are entertaining its worth spending that bit extra
Terrible tomatoes
Made tomato soup with 2 cans of these and the result was awful. It tasted sour and just wasnt as flavourful. Ocado used to sell a different brand (Rega) that were really lovely and am disappointed in the change.
