Splits and cracks
Always been a firm family favourite until recently - perhaps there have been changes to the manufacturing process or ingredients. The pastry splits and cracks when unrolling, making the pie topping look like a toddler attempt with playdoh. Being charged premium prices for ready rolled when the product is not fit for purpose. Will not buy again.
Cracked as rolled out. Very soggy when cooked. Unpleasant.
Oven baked curry puffs came out perfect
I used these to make small-ish potato curry puffs. Cut into small circles, add filling, seal, brush with eggs, bake at 200C for 18 mins. SO GOOD. Not too buttery with lovely delicate flaky layers. Very convenient too.
Perfect puff pastry
I used this pastry to top a deep-filled turkey and leek pie, and both of my daughters commented on how tasty it was. It was crisp and light, and the deep golden colour of home-baked pastry. Very easy to use too.
convenient and tasty
Perfect to make a quick dinner! Definitely recommend
great taste and texture.
As title says: great taste and texture. Its easy to work with and Ive never had a problem with it being sticky. Its vegan friendly which is great. They do use a blend of oils which includes palm oil, but they claim it to be from sustainable sources. As it may be better to purchase sustainable palm oil than to avoid it altogether (thats a whole other discussion), I will keep purchasing.
