into wine through a process of careful maceration, enhanced by constant churning during
fermentation. This takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature (between 28-
30°C) until the right degree of sweetness (baumé) is achieved. At this point, grape brandy is
added to create the final fortified wine. Made by blending wines of different harvests, with
different levels of maturation in stainless steel and wood for a minimum of 3 years, the result
is a rich and aromatic wine, with the perfect level of sweetness.

Brand
unmistakable and unique hand painted bottle. Specialised in Tawny
Ports which are an intrinsically Portuguese affair. Many of the vineyard owning families
would lay down their best wines in large wooden «pipes» and leave them to gently
mature in cask over many years. Time well spent in barrel...

Rather a nasty taste
This is, to my mind, a rather unpleasant product and doubtless it will end up as a total waste, poured down the drain. It has an earthy flavour and is unlike any other tawny port (or indeed any port) that I have had.
Disappointing
Product is tainted. Unpleasant earthy flavor and a bitter back note
the best port I have had in years
beautifully smooth and sweet but not too sweet. I love a good port at Christmas and this is definitely going to be at the top of my list, and in order to relive a moment from years ago perhaps the 40 year old might find its way into my basket one day
An absolute beauty
This port is beautiful has amazing flavours and warms the soul from one of the oldest port houses in the world this hand painted bottle of the highest quality tawny port just wows with every sip.
Delicious
I received this free from Ocado to review. For me, port means Christmas. This was a delicious port with a great deep flavour. Just the ticket for a winters night. Delicious!
Rich, deep red tawny
A much richer, deeper red than many Tawnies. Smooth and velvety - lovely. Feels really good value compared with others at this price point - would recommend / buy again.
