History
Cantina Bortolato Emanuela is one of the leading family-owned wineries in Italy. Established in 1986 by the Pizzolo Family; Giorgio (Managing Director) and his three brothers, Augusto, Giuliano and Floriano. The main production facility is based in Calmasino near Lake Garda and boasts one of the most modern facilities in Europe.

Abruzzo is one of Italy's most mountainous regions with the Apennines peaks reaching up to 9000 feet above sea level. The hillside vineyards planted on calcareous clay benefit from warm and significant sun exposure and are ventilated by dry breezes coming off the Adriatic Sea.

Vinification details
Once harvested, the Montepulciano grapes are gently pressed to preserve their fruity characteristics and fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperatures so as to achieve the perfect balance for the wine.
