Smooth and smoky
I like Islay whiskies and Laphroaig particularly. This is smoother than the standard version but still has the peaty taste. Well worth the modest extra cost.
Laphroaig is synonymous with peaty whiskys and in my view is a go to brand. This version is based towards the more value conscious end of the market but this doesn't detract from its quality. It genuinely tastes better than imitations and does seem to have that touch of the windswept sea about it complementing the excellent peaty flavour.
I was excited to try this for the first time I regularly drink whisky and bourbons . On opening there was a lovely oaky aroma I tried it neat at first and it was lovely smooth oaky smoked flavour warmed me in a lovely way inside I then tried it with coke and it was nice but theoakiness was a bit strong for my pallette. I would of preferred a a subtle aftertaste.. enjoyable as one drink couldn't have a lot in one go . Tastes smooth and good quality .
Sweet, smokey and delicious
Bought this for a friend's brithday and he kindly shared it. Really enjoyed it. Sweet, smokey and delicious.
Smooth and delicious
Its drinkable but not exactly smooth. Not close to the 10YO or Quarter Cask. I would probably choose a good blended ahead of this.
