Not a bad pie though not my favourite, does make a good mid week dinner
Um am I missing something??
I found the pastry cooked perfectly and no soggy bottom at all. I didnt milk wash them but the pastry was good. HOWEVER.. what the heck was that supposed to be inside? Gravy and what looks like some weird lentil sized lumps.. so strange to not have any solid fillings. Then I read the other reviews about palm oil and I scolded myself for thinking all vegan products are ethically equal which clearly theyre not! Its a bit fat no likey from me Linda!!
We love these pies, a perfect meal for these Winter months.
Love these with mash and vegan gravy
So tasty, really really nice, would definitely recommend.
First veggie pie I tried. Left me Satisfied.
When I first went vegetarian this was the 1st pie I'd tried. I'm now vegan and still love these pies. I think a lot of 'on trend' vegan =healthy ppl are rating this low bcos its a freakin pie and so its gonna have bad fats in. Many people conflate vegan foods with healthy. So many new vegans leave bad reviews/complaints about vegan 'treat' foods from cakes to pies to sausage rolls I want to roll my eyes who buys a dessert and thinks its not going to be bad for them? ITS A CHOCOLATE DESSERT. In the same way this is a PIE. It is tasty my meat loving usually anti vegan dad loved it. Which is saying something considering he was brought up in a typical Irish/scottish family. Meat tato and veg. But hes had these pies and admits they're good even asked for them of his own volition before. I do think some people are naive if you want to go vegan for health then dont eat pies or sausage rolls or cake and assume the vegan label means its not full of calories or trans fats and so on. I saw a woman complain about some gooey chocolate vegan cake because it was high in calories and vegan is meant to be healthy how is it healthy to have 400 calories in a slice of cake. I do find myself baffled everyday by the trend that is 'vegan for my health only' plant based eaters. Pies are a nice treat and I love this one with mashed tatos, veggies and plenty of extra gravy for my mash. If you dont like the taste of fake meat then you won't like it. Stick to veggie based products or better yet dont buy pies. Just eat veggies?? If youre worried about any amount of trans fat dont buy vegan alternatives for typically unhealthy meat based meals. I say give these pies a try despite what people say unless you are scared of a bit of trans fat for one meal!
