Preparation and Usage

Melting Instructions:
Place in a heatproof bowl over a shallow saucepan of water. Stir until melted.

Cooking guidelines

Hob - From Ambient. Break the chocolate into pieces and place into a heat-proof bowl, which will fit tightly into the rim of a saucepan. Bring approximately 5cm of water to a gentle simmer in the saucepan. Place the bowl with the chocolate on top of the saucepan. Frequently stir the chocolate until melted, then remove from the saucepan.; Microwave - From Ambient. Ideal for smaller quantities of chocolate. Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a microwave-proof bowl. Melt the chocolate in short intervals of approximately 15-20 seconds on medium-high power and stir after every interval until the chocolate is melted.

Recipes

Rich Chocolate Cake
Serves: 8
20 minutes
25 minutes

Ingredients:
180g Lindt 51% Dark Cooking Chocolate, 100g butter, 100g sugar, 3 eggs, (separated), 100g ground almonds, 25g plain flour, pinch of salt.

1. Preheat oven to 175°C (160°C Fan).
2. Grease cake tin.
3. In an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add one egg yolk at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. Melt the chocolate and mix into the butter mixture.
5. Sift the ground almonds and flour, fold into the chocolate mixture.
6. Whisk egg whites and salt to soft peaks and fold into cake mixture.
7. Pour batter into cake tin and bake for 25 minutes or until a skewer come out clean.
8. Once cooled, slice and serve with cream or ice cream.
