Tasting Notes
This Carmenère is forthcoming on the nose with aromas of blackberry, plum and black cherry that gradually give way to white pepper and herbal notes, the signature of this varietal. Extremely smooth on the palate with velvety tannins, this wine offers a good structure and admirable balance
History
Domaines Barons de Rothschild acquired Viña Los Vascos in 1988, animated by a pioneering spirit and with the vision to reveal the potential of this exceptional land. Today we cultivate a common dream and project: to turn our vast land into a rich ecosystem producing the most elegant Chilean wines.
Regional Information
Stretching from the Coastal range to the foothills of the Andes mountains, Colchagua's Mediterranean climate and privileged terroirs have made it a place of choice to produce quality wines in Chile. Los Vascos estate lies at the foothills of the coastal range, 200km South West of Santiago, in the cooler part of Colchagua where the vines benefit from the natural cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean.

Vinification Details
This Carmenère is made with the same care as our Bordeaux Grands Crus. Grapes are carefully picked by hand when reaching ripeness. After thorough sorting and de-stemming, grapes are placed in stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Regular pump over ensures a gentle extraction of the tannins. After malolactic fermentation, 50% of the wine is transferred into French oak barrels for a period of 12 months.

New every day hero
Loved it! Quite light but has layers of flavour. Worked perfectly with stake dinner and on its own as a bath companion. Cant imagine getting bored of this one.
