Product Information

Our Multi Award Winning and Golden Fork winning Bosco honey, also known as Forest honey is unique. It is one of the rarest and most complex honeys in the world! Unlike our other honeys that come from pollen and nectar, gathered by the bees from flower blossom. Rather, bees create this unique honey with another sweet substance called honeydew. A substance produced by Aphids. Aphids deposit droplets of honeydew sap that bees collect from the leaves of Alpine trees of Linden, Fir and Oak. It is because of this unique process that Bosco is a high energy honey, the richest in minerals and enzymes, making it is an excellent supplement for athletes. Producing a very strong and almost malty flavour that is not very sweet in comparison with our other honeys. It is very dark in colour. Dark Amber which is shaded brown. Pure, natural, raw and not infused! Italian Premium Honey. Louisa's Honey sustainably source the finest, purest honey from bees farms that are located in the beautiful valleys of Italy! Identifying the best geographical areas of production! They are honeys collected in tightly selected areas, far from possible forms of pollution and environmental contamination. We only work with bee farmers that use traditional, natural treatments and methods! Bees are treated with respect and are never treated with any unnatural products or chemicals. Louisa's Honey is Lab tested to verify authenticity and to ensure it is of the highest quality, standard and purity! Tested and certified world's leading experts in the analysis of honey. Louisa's Honey is one of the few brands that have their honey tested and certified for Total Activity (TA) for every harvest and lot. Louisa’s Bosco Honey TA Score: 20 + / Comparative to 829 + MGO. Offering both taste and certified health benefits. Total Activity measures the antibacterial properties of the honeys, in the same way Manuka measures antibacterial properties using MGO score.
The Total Activity (TA) score refers to the bacterial killing scale, the higher the TA, the greater the antibacterial and antimicrobial strength. (How good it is at killing bacteria) The higher the TA rating, the higher the antibacterial and antimicrobial strength. Total Activity over 10+ are considered to have substantial antimicrobial properties. . Comparisons between TA / UMF / MGO

Our honey is tested for its bioactivity via a Total Activity or TA rating. This is similar to the UMF/MGO rating for Manuka honey; however, TA ratings are a measure of both Peroxide Activity (PA) as well as Non-Peroxide Activity (NPA).

UMF or MGO ratings refer to Methylglyoxal and is a measurement of only NPA found in Manuka honey.
Take a look at the comparison chart for TA rating to MGO. TA MGO
