Preparation and Usage
Handling raw meat safely: This product contains raw meat and must be cooked according to the cooking instructions.
This product is sous vide (i.e. This product is cooked slowly in a sealed pouch for several hours).
Oven from frozen
Electric 220°C, Fan 200°C, Gas 7, 45 mins
Needs cooking
- Remove wellington from outer packaging using greaseproof paper. Brush with beaten egg or milk.
- Preheat oven to electric 220°C / Fan 200°C / Gas 7
- Transfer the wellington, using the greaseproof paper provided, to a preheated baking tray and place in the centre of the oven for 45 mins
- Remove from oven and leave to rest for 10 mins before carving to serve
Do not reheat.
Carving: For best results carve using a serrated carving knife
- Secure a large chopping board by placing it on top of a damp cloth
- Using the greaseproof paper lift the wellington onto the chopping board
- Ensure the pierced holes in the pastry are facing upwards
- Remove the greaseproof paper by sliding it out from underneath
- Carefully pierce with a large fork to secure meat and pastry.
- Using a sawing motion with a serrated knife, cut evenly in the middle. Use the pierced holes in the pastry as a cutting guide when slicing each portion.
-Divide the ends of the pastry among plates.
- Only carve as many slices as required to preserve the succulence and tenderness of the wellington. Serve immediately
