Good but not great Cheesecake
I like this cake but not as much as Waitrose Basque cheesecake for flavour. It's good that it doesn't contain gluten but unfortunate that this cannot be guaranteed - 'may not be suitable for gluten allergen' in the small print - my coeliac son won't take the risk. Far better burnt Manchego cheesecake available from Basco Fine Foods £31.50 rather than £11 but twice as big, gluten free and the best cheesecake I've ever tasted.
very sweet custard taste
I liked it. Husband wasn't so keen. I'd buy it again and cut it up so I only need to defrost a small portion. I'm not sure it's worth £11 though, it's a bit steep price wise
Nicest cheesecake
I really love this cheesecake but only in small portions with a few berries
Nice cheesecake, £11 though??
Very nice cheesecake, had a nice consistency, i do love a baked Basque style but I really don't think it was £11 worth of cheesecake. I actually cut mine up and froze in portions.
Not Basque
Cheesecake is cloyingly sweet and flat as well! It lacks the soufflé texture of a real Basque Cheesecake.
Incredible
Now Ive never tried a basque cheesecake before so I have nothing to compare it with, having said that this cheesecake was delicious, its has all most a custard like taste to it. Its beautiful creamy and has a nice smooth mouth feel. Overall this was an exceptionally great dessert given that it was frozen.
