Slow-cooked pulled beef in a rich red wine jus and mushroom duxelle wrapped in puff pastry, with a sachet of red wine sauce. Simply bake in the oven. Heat sauce gently over the hob. Serves 4.

For Use By, see front of pack. Keep refrigerated 0°C to +5°C. Once opened, use immediately. Suitable for freezing. Freeze by date mark shown and use within 1 month. Once defrosted (in a refrigerator) use immediately. Defrost thoroughly before use.
Instructions
Oven cook - From Chilled. Needs cooking
For best results, lightly brush the pastry with beaten egg before cooking.
Electric 220°C, Fan 200°C, Gas 7, 30 mins
Remove from fridge 5 mins before cooking.
Remove all packaging and place sauce sachet to one side for later use.
Preheat oven and baking tray.
Carefully pierce the top of each beef en croute.
Place on preheated baking tray on middle shelf of oven.
After cooking, allow to stand for 5 mins.
Empty sachet into a small saucepan and heat gently for 1-2 mins.
Serve with the beef en croute.
Do not reheat.

Delicious
Bit worried after the last review but we really enjoyed this. Ate two (with all the sauce) and froze two. The pastry was crisp and light and the filling very good - the mushrooms added a real layer of richness and the sauce was great (though we did add a bit more red wine) - wish you could buy it separately. The beef was tasty - no lumps, no gristle just great beef in sauce. It is not beef Wellington - it is pulled beef en croute- and we would have it again.

Disappointing
They had so much promise but didnt deliver. The pastry was crisp and ok, but the filling resembled dog food and had a strange flavour with tough lumps of meat.

Short date
Frankly any meat product that is use by the next day should be on flash sale. Cheeky charging full price.
