inaccurate cooking instructions
This was tasty enough, however the cooking instructions are completely wrong. I cooked this to medium and it was completely raw. I bought it in the flash sale but its not worth the full price.
Absolutely delicious
Bought on flash sale in spite of reviews. Wow. I cooked ours hot seared then to oven for the minimum time. Rested for 20 mins. Tasty lamb, tender meat- ours was rare. An unexpected treat and v big portions for 2 people.
Tiny
Extremely disappointed with this, seems like false advertising to me as it states that it is a butterfly keg of lamb, it’s more like a butterfly lamb steak, not enough meat for one person really. If I buy an actual leg of lamb I can feed family of 6 easily but this does not have even a third of the meat that a lamb leg would have so I think they have a cheek selling it as such. The pack was open when we received it so blood went all over the unpackaged veg in the bag and ruined that too.
Acceptable
Bought this on flash sale despite negative reviews as I am coming to the conclusion that if I followed all the negative reviews on Ocado I would never buy anything. On saying that I found this lamb acceptable at the best. I did cook it for longer than stated because at the twenty minute mark I tested it and it was far too pink for my liking. It did have a nice flavour but one or two bits were sinewy and a bit chewy. I used the gravy ( or jus as they call it) as a base for my own gravy that I made and it was slightly greasy. Overall not the worst lamb I have ever eaten but not the best. Would I buy again? No probably not.
very tasty and lovely lamp! Will defo buy again
Best butter lamp from a supermarket.
Average
Average flavour. Average succulence. Nice sauce but nothing to write home about. No problem with cooking instructions. Just a bit mediocre.
