Do not buy!
These are from Israel, I cannot support a lunatic regime. Buy the Natoora brand instead, they support Palestinian farmers.
luscious, rich and like fudge
These are the best dates around. They are like fudge with their sweet, rich, sticky gooeyness. Really lovely. I find them so moreish, and they're really good for you (in moderation!). Medjool dates from Israel are the ones I choose every time. superb
dry and sour
These are very much past best. Stop selling!
Some were rather hard and un\-enjoyable
On opening, these were rather dried out and not nice. My usual tip (put them in an airtight container and the next day they will be all soft and sticky as they should be) didn't work fully as it usually does. Some of them had improved but a good 85% remained resolutely dry with a tough interior. I wouldn't buy them again, for that reason. I'll save the dry ones and hopefully they'll be ok in a sticky toffee pudding or something.
very dry and hard and rotten a few
I bought the box three weeks ago and unfortunately did not start using until last week so can not even return it. The dates are really dry and hard, few rotten.... not at all pulpy the way they used to be. The price is same but the quality is deteriorated, so clearly M&S is buying it from some cheap sources but claiming to be the best and charging the customers way too higher price.
Used to be sticky and toffee like
Had to throw half of the last box away. Were so dry it was difficult to even cut them. Agee used to be lovely and a firm favourite.
