Preparation and Usage


Cottage Pie


Serves 4
PREP TIME 10 minutes
COOK TIME 30 minutes


YOU WILL NEED
1 white onion, diced
2 medium carrots, peeled & diced
500g beef mince
900g mashed potato


COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to ELECTRIC 200˚C / Fan 180˚C / Gas 6.
1. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a frying pan. Fry the onions for 5 minutes until golden brown.
2. Add the carrots and cook for 2 minutes.
3. Stir in the mince, breaking it up, cook for 5 minutes until the mince is browned. Add seasoning paste, stir and cook for a further minute.
4. Add 150ml of water, stir and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 2 minutes, ensuring the mince retains some gravy.
5. Transfer the mince to an oven safe dish, top with an even layer of mashed potato. Cook in the oven for 15 minutes, until mash is golden brown.


Why not try…
Replacing the mince with lentils or use cheesy mash.
